CHÂTEAUGAY DPO COTES D’AUVERGNE ROUGE – DOMAINE ROUGEYRON
13,50 € incl. VAT
Domaine Rougeyron is located in the Auvergne region, 10 kilometres from Clermont-Ferrand, on the edge of the village of Châteaugay near Volvic. The Rougeyron family is part of Châteaugay’s heritage. In a cellar carved out of the rock beneath the hillside of La Crouzette, Roland Rougeyron makes his Côtes d’Auvergne Châteaugay appellation wines.
20 hectares of south and east-facing vines, planted at an altitude of 400 metres on soils composed of volcanic scree and ash on a limestone bedrock. Some are between 50 and 80 years old.
Les raisins sont récoltés à la main. The wines are matured in stainless steel vats or oak barrels for certain cuvées.

The red wine has a dark ruby colour and develops fruity and spicy aromas. Fine and balanced on the palate.
Discreet on the nose, this Gamay AOC Côtes d’Auvergne releases spicy notes on the palate. A light, fruity wine, underpinned by silky tannins, to be enjoyed as an aperitif with a fine Auvergne charcuterie.
This Côtes d’Auvergne is a pure Gamay. Generous, with hints of spice and caramelized fruit, it has a long finish.
Enjoy with grilled meats, roasted meats and Auvergne cheeses.

Wine & food pairing
A mouth-watering wine to accompany spreads and charcuterie, an excellent dry-cured mountain ham, raw or cooked black pudding, a pork chop and my grilled andouillettes. Enjoy with grilled meats, roasted meats and Auvergne cheeses.
