SAUMUR BLANC AOP “LES LOUPS BLANCS” DOMAINE DE NERLEUX

18,90  incl. VAT

Domaine de Nerleux is a family estate in the Loire Valley. The Nerleux, or “Black Wolves” in old French, have long since given way to vines, and Amélie Neau, the 9th generation of winemakers, has been at the helm since 2010.

The latest generation is represented by Amélie Neau who, in 2010, after ten years’ professional experience in the banking sector, answered the call of the land, her land. After training in viticulture and winemaking, she joined her parents, Elisabeth and Régis, on the estate. The handover was short-lived and Amélie quickly took over from her parents, who are now enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

Wine tasting
The colour is magnificent, deep and dense with a serene, almost golden yellow.
The nose is very complex. White and yellow fruits start a thunderous concerto with aromas of peaches, apricots and quinces, then floral notes of lime blossom and seringat bring freshness, before the smoothness provided by woody, vanilla and toasty nuances.
The palate is velvety, generous and dense. All the richness of the nose is there, with a hint of candied citrus fruit on the finish, which enhances the aftertaste and gives this magnificent cuvée de Loups blancs its beautiful length and verticality.
