DPO SAUMUR CHAMPIGNY LES ROTISSANTS DOMAINE DES CHAMPS FLEURIS
17,00 € incl. VAT
The estate is located in the commune of Turquant, 10 km from Saumur, on the slopes overlooking the Loire. The vineyard covers 26 hectares. The vines grow on clay-limestone soils with a thin layer of topsoil.
On the estate’s 26 hectares, the Cabernet Franc produces 5 vintages of Saumur-Champigny a year, as well as the Rosé Attitude. 2 hectares of Chenin produce 2 vintages of Saumur Blanc and 1 vintage of Crémant de Loire.
This wine estate is located at the top of the Loire hills, where the most robust wines are made. This is because the roots have to dig deeper into the soil, which provides the grapes with more minerals and nutrients.
All Domaine de Champs Fleuris wines have a high ageing potential.

Description
Grape varieties: 100% Cabernet Franc
Vine training: Single Guyot pruning, with vigour naturally controlled by the age of the vines.
Yield: approximately 30 hl/ha
Harvesting: By hand. When the grapes are fully ripe, the harvest date depends on the degree, acidity and health of the different plots. (Early October on average). (Degree of harvest from 12.5 to 13.5 % vol.)
Vinification: The entire harvest is sorted on a table in the winery, then destemmed to ensure that only very ripe grapes are used. Maceration lasts 21 to 30 days.
Maturation: the wine is matured in casks for around 1 year. The casks are tasted one by one to select only the best wines.
Tasting notes: Dark ruby colour, dominated by aromas of black fruit, with hints of spice and vanilla. The attack is full-bodied and fleshy, supported by a strong tannic structure. Wait 2 to 3 years for greater harmony.
Food pairing: with roast meat, game or cheese.
Serve at 15°-16°.
