COTEAU DU LAYON “FLORILEGE” DOMAINE LEDUC FROUIN 2022
18,50 € incl. VAT
Domaine LEDUC-FROUIN is run by Nathalie and Antoine LEDUC, the 4th generation of winegrowers on the family estate!
Our 30-hectare vineyard is located near the village of Sousigné, north of Martigné-Briand (in the heart of the Haut-Layon region). Our main red grape varieties are Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Grolleau. Chenin is the main grape variety used to make our white wines, but we also grow Chardonnay.
To promote our terroirs and the balance of the vines in their environment, our vineyards are managed using integrated production methods. We work using ecological methods, giving priority to observing the vines and respecting the environment. Combining tradition and modernity, Antoine and Nathalie do their utmost to offer you typical, subtle and surprising wines…

Description
Luscious aromas of mango and candied pear are present. The light, mellow taste is accompanied by the minerality characteristic of the terroir.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Chenin.
REGION: Loire. Terra Vitis certified wine.
TERROIR: “Le Grand Clos”, Sousigné village. Soil and subsoil: talc schists and gravel on phtanites
HARVEST: The grapes were picked by hand in mid-November 2015. The bunches selected during the different passages are golden, botrytised and overripe.
VINIFICATION: Transported in small bins, the bunches arrive intact at the cellar to be poured into a pneumatic press. A long (around 10 hours) and delicate pressing process begins. This is followed by static settling, alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats and ageing. Finally, the wine was bottled on the estate in March 2016. TASTING
This seductive Coteaux du Layon, with its fruity notes, is made from hand-picked bunches of golden Chenin with raisins.
Enjoy the exotic flavors of pineapple, mango and quince.
Enjoy from aperitif to dessert. We recommend serving this wine at a temperature of between 10°C and 12°C.
A mellow wine that reveals the full expression of overripe Chenin: intense nose, opulence and vivacity. From five to ten years after harvest, these wines express aromas of white flowers (rose, seringa, hawthorn) and white fruit (pear, peach).
FOOD & WINE:
Pairings auvergne blue cheese toast, mini foie gras brioche with mango chutney, squab with grapes, pear and blackcurrant cobbler
