Our AOC Cheverny Rouge is a light, fruity wine with aromas of morello cherries and wild berries. It is made up of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Gamay.
A little history…
Established in the Middle Ages around the abbeys, the vineyards attracted the interest of the kings of France in the 16th century.
In 1577, the Paris parliament passed a law prohibiting Parisians from buying wines produced less than twenty leagues (88 km) from the capital. To meet demand, plantations were initially extended around Orléans, then increasingly downstream towards Blois and Tours.
The terroir and the people behind it have produced a quality wine that was awarded the AOC label in 1993.
