SAUMUR ROSÉ DPO DOMAINE DE NERLEUX
10,90 € incl. VAT
Domaine de Nerleux is a family estate in the Loire Valley. The Nerleux, or “Black Wolves” in old French, have long since given way to vines, and Amélie Neau, the 9th generation of winemakers, has been at the helm since 2010.
The latest generation is represented by Amélie Neau who, in 2010, after ten years’ professional experience in the banking sector, answered the call of the land, her land. After training in viticulture and winemaking, she joined her parents, Elisabeth and Régis, on the estate. The handover was short-lived and Amélie quickly took over from her parents, who are now enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

Wine Breeding
A light settling of the must, followed by a low-temperature fermentation, helped to refine the structure so as to make the most of the wine’s qualitative and aromatic potential.
The short ageing period has been adapted to the early release of this type of fresh, flattering wine, with bottling scheduled for the end of January 2022.
Serving temperature: 4 to 6°C
Ageing potential : To be used now and over 1 or 2 years
Wine tasting
The colour is beautiful, luminous and very attractive, a superb pomelo colour with lively salmon highlights.
On the nose, the first impression is of springtime scents of red berries (strawberries, raspberries, redcurrants, etc.) and blue flowers (iris, violet), before notes of pink grapefruit quickly take over with deliciousness and power!
The palate is light, fine, elegant and very airy… On the palate, we find the sensations and aromas of pink grapefruit with a hint of acidity and, above all, a great deal of freshness.
Food & wine
This very fruity wine goes well with many dishes:
Mixed salads (Loire elver salad, mint tabbouleh, fresh Saumur mushroom salad with lemon chives, crab duo…)
Grilled fish (mackerel, salmon, sardines, fried smelt, etc.)
Pizzas and other southern European specialities (fresh pasta) Grilled white meats, kebabs or poultry in sauce.
